Grades with arithmetic behind them
A conviction grade should be calculated, not vibed.
Most services pin confidence words to a call — “strong”, “high conviction” — words that flex to whatever the sender feels on the day. A measured conviction grade works the other way round: it pins the call to a spot in its own model's return distribution, with an actual number standing behind the letter.
On the desk pick, each call wears a grade running from A (highest) down to D (lowest), with the threshold fixed per model. There is no E grade; it left the live product so the four bands keep their meaning. Because the A threshold is drawn from each model's own returns, one letter stands for a different absolute move depending on the horizon:

An A marks the top band of a model's own measured return spread; a D is the lowest band still published. Because the bar is set per model, an A on an intraday call (a move near 0.70%) and an A on a swing call (nearer 6.00%) both read as “top band for this horizon” rather than one absolute figure forced across very different holding times. There is no E grade — it was retired from the live product so the four-step ladder keeps its meaning.
Why per-model calibration matters
One yardstick held to every model would quietly penalise the fast model while flattering the slow one: a 0.70% intraday move and a 6.00% multi-week move are not comparable in raw size, so judging both against one absolute target would tell a buyer nothing useful. Grading each call against its own model's spread means a B on a Day Trade alert and a B on a Swing alert each say the same thing — “above-typical for this horizon” — which is exactly the signal a trader who cannot take every call needs to know when to size up.
And because the grade is part of what gets hashed on-chain (see fixed before settlement), it is fixed before the outcome is known and cannot be revised once the call resolves. That is what stops a grade from being a marketing dial turned up after a winner settles.
How the field fails this one
The moment a grade is a word instead of a number, it has failed this test — and a grade left out of the hash fails it on a second count too, since nothing stops it being rewritten later.
- Messaging-app channels (Telegram, Discord). The operator owns the post history. A call can be added after the contract moved, edited in place, or deleted leaving no record, so it fails fixed before settlement outright — and usually the denominator with it, because the losing posts are simply never made.
- Copy-trading rooms. More checkable than a chat, since a platform logs participant results — but the calls are seldom timestamped per signal and seldom graded, so they fail fixed before settlement and a measured grade even where a rough denominator survives.
- Social-media callers. Posts can be quietly deleted or selectively amplified, and the revenue often runs on broker affiliate links, so a caller tends to miss nearly every test together — fixed before settlement, a full denominator and aligned revenue at once.
- Signal-aggregator sites. They republish other desks' calls without auditing them, so every verification gap in the original is inherited intact. They fail a re-runnable record by descent.
It is for this reason the guide casts itself as grading a whole category instead of writing up one product: a grade tied to measured returns and frozen before the outcome happens to be the test the bulk of the field cannot pass, and a test that hard to pass is exactly the kind worth paying to have passed.
